Vassar College is a private, liberal, coeducational, human sciences school situated in Poughkeepsie, on the Hudson River about somewhere between New York City and Albany. Established in 1861 as a ladies' school, and initially one of "Seven Sisters" (the all-ladies' Ivy League), Vassar did not concede men until 1969.
